In the future, food is no longer necessary—until Thalia begins to feel something unfamiliar and uncomfortable. She’s hungry.
In Thalia’s world, there is no need for food—everyone takes medication (or “inocs”) to ward off hunger. It should mean there is no more famine, no more obesity, no more food-related illnesses, and no more war. At least that's what her parents, who work for the company that developed the inocs, say. But when Thalia meets a boy who is part of an underground movement to bring food back, she realizes that most people live a life much different from hers. Worse, Thalia is starting to feel hunger, and so is he—the inocs aren’t working. Together they set out to find the only thing that will quell their hunger: real food.
H. A. Swain delivers an adventure that is both epic and fast-paced. Get ready to be Hungry.
So many people think this book looks weird. I guess it sort of does look weird. But the cover is just so pretty, and I'm willing to give the book a chance. I can't judge it before I've read it! I think if Swain does this book well it could be great.
I saw this book on NetGalley. It sounds pretty interesting to me. Great pick!

I think that this sounds quite intriguing. I don't really think the cover look weird but first glance made me think it was possibly about an eating disorder. I guess really it kind of is. Thanks for sharing =D I'm a new bloglovin follower.

Haha, I thought the cover was pretty not weird! :D For some reason, I just think it's an interesting premise. And I'm willing to give any dystopian novel a chance!
DeleteI'll go check yours out now!
It does seem a bit funky, but I love the cover as well! And I really think that the synopsis is intriguing. This book has a lot of potential. :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it's books like these that are "out there" that usually disappoint me. They really have to hit the mark or else they just don't really meet my expectations. I feel like I'm a picky reader. xD
