The Cellar by Natasha Preston Blog Tour GUEST POST

I'd like to say a great, big thank you for Natasha Preston, who is the author of The Cellar, for taking the time to write a guest post based on the following prompt: What was the journey like going from writing online to getting your book out in print? I've posted a review of The Cellar on the blog already.

Now onto the post!
My journey from writing online to getting my book in print was fairly smooth. When I first found out Sourcebooks wanted to publish The Cellar I had been writing for a little under two and a half years and had already self-published two books.

Amazingly I’ve had a very easy time publishing-wise. I think most of that is down to having some pretty amazing readers who have always there to support me and whatever else I write.

Having a book traditionally published has been a dream of mine since I became serious about writing in 2012. I think my cheeks hurt from smiling so much when I first spoke to my editor at Sourcebooks. There was more pressure, the deadline was tight so I had to put online updating on hold, which I hated to do because I’ve built up a great relationship with my readers.

Since I’ve published already I knew I’d be editing and editing and editing. I was prepared for that. When you’re online you have the freedom to leave it and move on to something else.

I love writing online and Wattpad is the perfect place for me to share whatever idea pops into my head. I’ll continue to upload Wattpad only material on the site but my career as a writer comes first; after all, nothing beats that feeling of holding your own book in your hand!

What do you think of Natasha's journey from online to print?
